El 16 de Octubre la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO) celebra el día Mundial de la Alimentación, proclamado en 1979 por la Conferencia de la FAO con el objeto de concientizar a las poblaciones sobre el problema alimentario mundial y fortalecer la solidaridad en la lucha contra el hambre, la desnutrición y la pobreza. El tema de este año es “Unidos contra el Hambre” y fue escogido con el fin de reconocer los esfuerzos realizados en la lucha contra el hambre en el mundo nationally, regionally and internationally.

The Coordinator of the Food Industry (COPAL) is a professional association that brings together business chambers and companies in the food industry and beverage, accounting to all producers of this area, with a variety in terms of size of companies, plants in urban, suburban and regional economies.

The Food Bank receives donations of food and redistributed to community kitchens located in 12 cities. They act as intermediaries between companies and individuals who donate food and needy people attending the canteens.

Argentina Network Food Bank is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the action of the Food Bank and developing strategic alliances to promote the reduction of hunger and promote nutritional education, helping to promote the dignity of every human being in Argentina.
